International Congress 125th Anniversary of the Chair of Epigraphy and Numismatics at the Complutense University of Madrid 27-29 October, 2025

WRITTEN AND MINTED MEMORY IN THE RECONSTRUCTION OF THE PAST

This gathering will unite experts to discuss diverse perspectives in Epigraphy and Numismatics, focusing on key themes such as:

• The interplay of Epigraphy and Numismatics with Philology, Palaeography, and Archaeology.

• Innovations in the Digital Age: fresh perspectives and methodologies.

• Manuscript sources in numismatic and epigraphic studies.

• The role of Epigraphy and Numismatics in shaping historical narratives.

CALL FOR PAPERS

Submissions are invited on the above themes or any relevant topics in Epigraphy and Numismatics. Please send a title and a 400-word abstract by June 20, 2025, including your name, affiliation, a brief CV (max. 10 lines), and email. Proposals can be in Spanish, English, French, German, Italian, or Portuguese. Presentations will be 20 minutes, followed by discussion. The registration fee for speakers is €50, and attendance is required in person. An edited volume of selected contributions will be published post-conference.
